Happy Chinese New Year! It’s Tikoy Season! 😀
As I miss my Chinese friends, I miss you Baby Girl Mei, Baby Boy Jonathan and Kuya Carl! What I miss the most is their Tikoy! 🙂 When I was in culinary school, I remember, when it’s Chinese New Year, they bring breakfast for the whole class. What else? TIKOY! And I loved it! It’s not the usual way I eat it at home, like dipped in eggs and then fry it, but it is wrapped in a spring roll/lumpia wrapper, and with a slice of cheese inside! The sweetness of the tikoy and the saltiness of the cheese is just the perfect combination! Just like maple bacon in ice cream! Oh how I’m imagining it while typing this entry! 😀 In this post, I will show you how I made my own Cheese Tikoy Rolls, as I call it! 🙂
Ingredients are:
1. Tikoy – sliced, the way you want it. I want mine to be sliced a bit thinner in width, but thicker in height. Pictures below for reference. 🙂
2. Cheese – sliced like tikoy. You can also use Cream cheese!
3. and of course, the Lumpia wrapper! You can also use Spring Roll wrapper.
COMPOSITION
Just wrap the tikoy and cheese together, like how you roll a lumpia.
While I was wrapping, a package arrived, and yes yes YES! My January/February BDJ Box is here! Will be making a post about it these next days. View my review HERE.
Moving on…..
There you go! Enjoy this yummy treat as breakfast or merienda with coffee or tea! 🙂
